OK guys. Right now, I have the computer in my sig. I have the opportunity to build a new system. I'm impressed with my current rig, but it isn't as fast as I thought it is. And I have been hearing some really great stuff about intel's core 2 duo. So my question is, for the best BANG for the buck, no matter the price, what set up should I do? Is Intel really the way to go?

I was thinking:

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115003

MOBO - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813121016
or this MOBO

Is this good? Is AM2 better than socket T? why?

Is the processor worth it? Or should I go E6400 and overclock?

Is this the best motherboard or should I go with ASUS? thanks guys. ANY ANY ANY opinions really appreciated. No matter what :)

yeah you could probably hold out with your current setup for a while.

But I'm a major hypocrite for saying that considering I just built a C2D system. Then built an AMD S939 system with an A64 3700+ to test out vista...but then decided I want an X2 4200+ just because...

I'd go with the ASUS mobo and the E6400. 2 gig DDR2-800 set.

I could help you spend your money allllll day long.

Well, the reason why I'm building a new rig is because my father needs a computer. So I'm giving him this one, and I have to buy another one. That is the recommended choice for a GPU? Thanks guys.

The differences? Im guessing the $112 is the same just cheaper price? and is the 7900gs better?

Yes it is the same card at cheaper price.

And yea the 7900GS is better than 7600GT

does everything else look good or should I go E6600?

The e6600 will last you alot longer, but the e6400 is still amazingly good, depends if you're willing to spend the lil bit extra or would rather save the money.
