Hey guys my bro wants to get a computer that can at least play battlefield 2 on medium settings with decent frame rates. I already provided him with a socket 939 amd 64 3500 now all he needs is a: new case, motherboard (pci-e), power supply, and a decent video card.
Oh yeah his budget is 500 but hes willing to spend like 700 but he would really really like to limit it to 500.

Oh, my system in my sig can play battlefield 2 on medium pretty good, and Battlefield 2142 on medium decent too, but isnce he has $500 you can get some pretty good parts im thinking something like this.

-DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra
-2x1gig Corsair XMS
-7900GS
-Antec Sonota 2 Case with 450watt Antec PSU.

If you need links let me know, that should be under $500.

Thnx man thats more than enough help ill dig up those links on newegg myself :D thnx again i think he will consider this build.

I was just rethinking it, for a cheaper way to go but similar performance, you could just get liek 1 gig of ram, a 7600gt, and the other DFI Lanparty that's cheaper. Here's some links.

-DFI Lanparty: $85

-2x512mb of Patrio DDR400 ram: $115

-eVGA 7600gt: $133

There you go thats liek $333 and this case has a good Antec Psu in it saving you money:

So that'll be $433, you could either take that good system or spend those extra $67 to upgrade the videocard to a 7900GS:

It's your choice.

Ya I have a Raidmax PSU right now. It's actually 380watts and it has lasted me 6 months now and going strong. Iy runs my whole system which is in my sig, and havent had any problems, I have my cpu o/ced to 2.0ghz too.

wow thats pretty good i have a 480watt "Alienware" PSU other words generic its horible i already ordered a seasonic to replace it because i dont know how long my 4800 can last with this psu.
