ok, say my FSB is at 200mhz and if i get a 400mhz RAM will it only run at 200mhz? cuz my FSB is at 200mhz and my current RAM is running at 200mhz.

The FSB has to do with the CPU, it should run fine unless there's strict limitations on the motherboard manual. (I have seen these, a system I once had ran DDR 333 and DDR 400 at 266MHz when paired up with a Celeron that had a 400MHz FSB.)

Yes, your FSB and your Ram are linked.
They will run at the same speed unless you run a Ram divider.
By thee way DDR400 Ram is meant to run at 200Mhz, so if thats what you mean Your FSB and Ram will be running at 200Mhz.

As Chris_PC said, RAM and FSB usually need to operate at the same speed. It would be troublesome if it didn't. For DDR400 (PC3200) RAM the *real* speed is 200Mz, so in your case it's already running at the FSB speed, which is 200Mhz.

When RAM is rated at slower or faster speed than the FSB, then it's common to use "dividers" or "multipliers" to bring it back to the FSB speed.
