USB2.0 Pendrive problem

hi

I got a Usb 2.0 1GB pendrive and i use windows 2000 Service pack 4.

Windows recognises the pendrive as Drive letter F.

When i double click to open the pen drive, i'am prompted to
FORMAT the drive.

During format process upon reaching the 100% windows says
that it was unable to format the pen!!!!

Ive tried admistrative tools computer management also it cannot
successfully complete the 100% format!!!!

Ive even used FAT32 and NTFS same problem cant format, upon reaching 100% windows prompt me "unable to format"!!!

Can i have some help in fixing this problem please!!!

Update your USB drivers.

go to start, run. type cmd, hit enter. type format f: and hit enter. follow instructions, and wait

formatted usb2.0 pen size problem

ive got it formatted but the size is humhum!!

overall Size is = 1GB

After a clean full format ---> formatted to Fat32

free space = 632MB

Used Space = 375MB


is this Correct for a 1Gb usb Pendrive?

Why it takes 375MB as used space its seems strange!!!

How to recover those 375MB please??
