They (The benchmarks) say that an E6300 is equivalent to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, however, if you're on a budget, I'd go with the AMD system, because, if you don't already have a compatible motherboard and RAM modules, it's going to cost you.

what is the best cheapest sli board for that?

And it has to have ddr2 800mhz 4 slots and good ratings.

Just about the only SLI board that has DDR2 800 support would have to be the Asus P5N32-SLI Premium.

However, you should wait for NVidia to release the 680i chipset if you want to be current, and if you have the time/money.

No way are you going to get a Core 2 Duo board with DDR2 800 specifications and SLI for $100. (Unless someone personally sells you one, or you find one on eBay.)

If you really want to go for value (cheap), I'd vote for the AMD system. I had a previous system with an Athlon 64 3200 (which can be had for about $60) that was dynamite for games when paired with a decent video card (7600 GT). A lot depends on the size of your monitor as well. My monitor was a 1024 x 768.

Cheers!
