i have direct x 9 c , but how do i unistall and dowload drivers again?

Yes, go there and remove the current drivers (ATI or Nvidia).

Then reboot, go to ATI.com or Nvidia.com (depending on which card you have) and download the latest drivers.

Install them, reboot, and try your game again.

hey man! I tried doing what you told me, but it dosent work. Does it matter that I have a widescreen? I should also mention the fact that hl2 runs just fine! Screen goes black after the two cts appear. I hear the clicking when i float over menu items. Thanks!!
