Reboot Disk Check Problem

When ever i restart my pc it starts to load windows then brings up this screen saying CHKDSK or something like that and to cancel it press ESC within the next 8 or so seconds, does anybody know what this and how to fix it? I'm on Windows XP Pro if that helps any and my system specs are in my sig. Thanks in advance.

are you shutting down correctly? going to start>run>shutdown then choosing restart or shutdown?

Yes, I let it do it's chkdsk this time and let it go all the way through and now It restarts normally, thanks for the help though and I'll be back if it starts happening again.

Did you let it check your disk? If you keep cancelling it, it will keep popping up, forever.
