Please help trying to reinstall windows

I'm going through the re install with a good copy of xp pro and It is asking me to insert the windows service pack one disk then brings up a little window to browse your system for the files. the problem is I don't have a sp1 disc nor does the comp seem to recognize the cd rom even though that is where the windows disc is please help as my computer is dead for now whil I wait fo rthis.

boot the computer from the cd by pressing f8 repeatidly at start up and choose ur cd drive and follow instrustions if you want to keep the files dont refromat just reinstall over top of old windows.

Thats super awsome that I know that now because I alrady formatted the part of the drive with windows on it, I guess that is why this didn't happen last time.

So am I screwed now or what

no just start up windows with the cd in it.
