I am thinking about making a wooden case out of some spare deck wood scraps.

Would that work?

I will spray paint it later before i put the pc in it.

I am taking out a power button from an old case that wich is damaged.

I was thinking about putting plexiglass on the side of it.

Is it easy to drill wholes though plexiglass without the plexiglass getting sharp edges or splitting a little?

If you say no to drilling wholes than will hot glue be good enough to hold the plexiglass in place?

when u drill holes in the plexi, tape it up and put it between 2 pieces of wood and go slow.... there wont be any cracks...

use a small diameter drill bit and then the size you want... taking too much at once can cause it to crack

**** why the h3ll didnt i think of that a week ago when i gave up on building a case from scratch because it looked bad.
oh well now i have the way to make it look good, great idea

This is an awesome idea. I'm not sure if I would be able to do it, but it's a great idea. Would let you set it up exactly how you want it. I may try to do that sometime just to throw some spare parts in it for a server or something.

if ur really worried about cracking. i'm sure strong glue wil hold up also.
