What Does This Mean?

The device, \Device\CdRom1, has a bad block.

Basically, my computer has'nt been posting on startup and I pretty much did everything, but start to swap components, except my vid card, which I did. Still nothing, and then today I started it up and everything worked liked normal. I checked the computer errors and I got that error, and the dates for it, were when I tried to boot up the computer. So would having a bad cdrom, cause the computer not to post? Thanks for any help!

Also, I tried it with a disk and it seems to be working normally.

A bad CD rom won't keep it from posting. It should function just fine. Do you have another drive to test?

Nope, right now I'm at the point where I'd have to buy parts to swap out to see what's bad. I don't have the money to do all that, lol. I'll probly have to take it someplace to get it looked at. I was hoping maybe the cd was the cause, and then I could just replace that.
