"Windows Explorer has ecountered a problem and needs to close."

I have a season of episodes for a show burnt on cd as data files and after i open the files and then click on any episode to play it i get the error message "Windows Explorer has ecountered a problem and needs to close." Why is thing happening? There is no problem with the disc or its contents because it plays fine on the other computer. Is there anything i can do so i can watch these episodes on my computer?

Why u brunt ur Show as a DATA file??? or ur computer can't play this kind of file??
DId u play this kind of file at the same computer before?

My friend burnt it as data file so he didnt have to use 40 discs. My computer should be able to play it fine but its as if it crashes every time i even click once on the icon to play the show.
I dont know if it is a Windows problem and i have to reformat but it shouldnt be because the computer is only 3 weeks old.

I just downloaded DivX and now it plays the movie but i still get that windows error message.. its annoying to leave in the background when i watch it.
