Should my dad get this?

My dad is thinking of getting this computer for 650$ brand new with shipping:

amd 64 4000+ skt 939
2x 1gb sticks of ram ddr400 in dual channel
160 ata133 hard drive
dvd/cd burner/reader
some random case with 4x 80mm fans
evga 7900gs

His main questions were:
1)How long will it last him?
2)He does some gaming and video editing, will this be good enough?
3)For the same price can he do better?

I answered those questions myself but I couldnt give him answers with good reasons. People just know thats a pretty good system for the price!

Sounds like a pretty good deal, it aint the prettiest but if he does some serious gaming or editing i would suggest a dual core system imo. but thats a good deal, I Paid over 10k for mine

well i think if he's doing heavy photo editing he should definetly get a better processor because my almost has trouble with photo editing

You could build that for about half to two-thirds that price.

I'd consider buying that as a secondary computer. Its a good deal.

that's a good price. it would last him a good 2 - 3 years. if he's planning to do video editing, i suggest adding a larger or another hdd.
