Hello,

Recently, my computer has been stalling a lot. Whenever I open a new tab in Firefox or a new application, there will be a second where my computer seems to stall. I know this, because as I am (always) listening to a piece of music, when my computer stalls, the music gets cuts off for a split second. Is this a hard drive problem? How can I diagnose this issue and resolve it?

Thanks,
Eraemia

Hello,

I am using a 2-month old Dell Latitude D820, with the following specifications:

OS: Windows XP Pro
Processor: Intel T2400 @ 1.83GHz
Memory: 1022 MB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M, 256 MB

Thanks,
Eraemia

P.S. A few days ago, my computer completely froze; something in my computer made this persistent ticking sound (tick, tick, tick). I think it was from my HD.

well, all thats good, spent about an hour on google, so, yes its the hdd. call dell support, and ask for a replacement for the hdd. u will have to send it in, so make a back up of your files, then send it in, and see if you can have them transfer ur old files and settings to the new hdd, if they dont, then just restore the files you backed up
