Right now I have a compac
amd socket a 3000
1 gig ram
6600gt

I'm thinking about upgrading in about a month and I cant decide which would be better I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible but I will need mobo, cpu, ram and gxf card ( mine is agp) Every one seems to be saying core duo is the way to go but it seems that amd is still cheaper fo rhte same performance. I was thinking something around these lines

I don't know what would be better what do yall think

*sigh* sadly yes...the C2D is like AMD squared.... I'd like to think I cant notice the difference between 2.5GHz and a comparative 3.5GHz..but I know I would *tear*

If you want to make it cheap as possible with the best performance, spend the most money on the Graphics card. A good CPU is the 3500+ with the Asus M2N-E motherboard. You'll gain much more gaming performance by purchasing a better Graphics card rather than a better CPU.

well man as an amd guy i regret to say core 2 duo...i regret buying amd right b4 core 2 but safe to say amd will some out with betta!!!!hopefully....
