Have had some computer problems recently, mainly my motherboard sets off an audio alarm at random times. It doesn't give a post code or any sort of error and it just occurs at any time whether in windows or not, or turned on 10 hours ago or 2 minutes ago.

I hadn't been able to find any pattern until just now. I am reinstalling windows, and I get an error that some files are missing (because Im using winLite). If I leave one of these errors up for about 10 second without hitting OK, the alarm goes off. What's more, when I DO hit OK, the alarm stops.

I can't find anyone whose seen this problem before, and I am clueless where to start figuring out what hardware is messed up.

Can anyone please help???

Try using a full windows xp install cd instead of lite because the lite versions tend to have problems and see if the problem goes away

you called it, thanks

has been working for awhile with the full install, but i first started getting these alarms before i ever had tried winLite. i wonder if thats just a coincidence
