Guys, which among these two cpus have better performance than the other?

Intel Pentium 4 1.8Ghz Williamette S478

or

AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8Ghz Palermo S754

It may be not fair for comparing a main processor vs budget processor. But seeing that AMD cpus gives more performance and Im not quite sure, so I asked. Let as assume that the other specs (mobo, ram, gfx) is identical as possible.

I'd say the sempron 3100+ is better. I have the P4 S478 1.8GHz, and it's slow for gaming and such. Thats why I ordered an AMD 64 3700+

Yea, I agree.

The Pentium 4 is around 5 years old, 32-bit.

The Sempron is new, 64-bit, and runs at about 2.0 Ghz.
