well i have a razer biamondback gaming mouse... and i have an old keyboard for now and i have a crt monitor but it would be great if i could get a lcd but if it doesn't fit my budget then i wont get it... the lowest c2d i would like is the E6400... and i dont really need more than 120gig of space for now... i also have a dvd burner already. this is the case i would like... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133147

would the case that i want fit a scythe ninja heatsink or do u think there would be problems???
 
I'm not sure, but you may want to get a full tower case, for some good clearance.
 
considering your budget, stick with the CRT it`ll be better for gaming anyway. Also why not just get a E6300? the only diff with that and E6400 is clock speed so you can just OC the E6300 past the E6400.

and you have to make up your mind a gaming machine or overclocking machine. For gaming you need a decent graphics card but you seem to want to OC which means you`ll need to spend a lot of RAM. Also need a good overclocking motherboard.

Not to mention you now need a case and PSU. All that for $1000? it`ll be tough personally Id get some cheap ram an average mobo and spend the left overs on getting a better GPU.
