Installing Gpu Problem

im sure i unistalled the drivers correctly as ive done this before but i put in my new 6800xt to replace my older 9600 agp card and when i put in the driver cd it started loading then froze, i restarted then the boot up and basicly the whole computer runs ultra slow. I cant even get into the desktop before it gets to slow.

Whats the problem here?

Don't use driver cds. Go to the nvidia website, and download the latest drivers. Sometimes or usually the cd doesn't have the latest or doesn't work.

Why is it so slow though? makes no sense to me at all.

Because maybe you haven't installed the latest drivers yet..from the nvidia website. Did you? I had the same problem. Without drivers for the video card, the comp is super slow.
