Doesn't sound right to me, can you list a source?? Was this just something you heard from a friend, or something you read in an article?

Seeing as how they don't currently offer anything with more than 1MB of layer 2 cache (aside from dual core, which has 2x1MB cache), I doubt they would halt production on thier chips.

No articles on Anandtech or Tom's Hardware about it.

I am thinking that what he meant was either mis-typed or something.... It would be more likely that the Socket 939 CPU's would not be produced, rather than stopping production of a certain cache size CPU.....

That is just one person on a forum saying something, doesn't mean that it is accurate.... And it is a few months old as well.
