Your also going to need cd drive, floppy drive and thermal compound. I like that case but i have used a lot of antec cases and they are a lot cheaper. Looks all pretty good to me. There is other p4's that you can use with faster cache or wateva but they are too much money.

You wont need thermal compound - the cpu is retail - it should have a fan with thermal tape

I agree with mrzeeedler on the case price

Also...did you realize that this mobo has onboard sound? - you might not need a sound card...

It depends on what you are going to use it for. The really good compund is Artic silver5. Its the best kind out there now. As for the sound card.... Depending on what kind of on-board sound there is there.. you would probley need a better sound card. But as for the on-board sound... if its for a gaming PC, i would get a better sound card.

thanks for all the replies. im taking everything said into view.

to NCISAGENT and Moster00, ya i kno it has onboard sound but i believe itll be easily replaced so that wont bother me much with buying the Audigy 2. however i guess ill look around for the same board without onboard sound.

about the case i chose i love the design and the accessories. and thanks to nehi for giving me cheaper price :)

anymore helpful tips on what i should do or any other changes would do me good. THX ahead!!!

Oki doki where to start... very nice price on mobo/CPU/Memory and 9800 Pro. But you could wait a couple weeks and get an XT when the prices fall; because the XT800 Pro/XT and 6800 Ultra are coming out retail.

I would stick with a sound card because onboard sound just doesn't provide enough bandwidth - and if you are a dedicated gamer like me then you will probably have the gaming sound, music and Team Speak (online game talking) on all at the same time.

The case looks fine to me, you pay for stylz :p

ya im most definitely not sticking to onboard sound card, however i might get look around some more for a better Audigy 2

ill look into when the XT800 will hit retail. hope prices of 9800 XT fall lower then $350. anyhows im not ready to get all the parts just yet since it'll be a few weeks before im out of school and can start full time.:D
