Ok I ordered a 1G ram for my Dell Dimension 4700

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=130035620529&rd=1&rd=1

Its not recognizing it. He sent me specs on my Dell and said it would work.

Your computer support 1gb ddr2 pc2-3200, but pc2-4200 will also work.
Manufacture recommend memory to be install in pair

PC2-3200. Modules must be installed in pairs for Dual Channel mode.

So I dunno why its not working? Any ideas? Do I need to change something in the BIOS? is 1GB to big for this?

Thanks in advance

I dont know how to fix it, but my Dell had the same problem. I bought a 1gb stick of RAM and put in my comp and it didn't work. Took it back, got an identical one and it still didn't work. Took that back and got a 1gb stick from another company and it worked fine. Call dell and see what they have to say. their support dept. is really good(if you can understand them ;))

Thanks for the quick reply.

I may have to do that. Only thing I can think of is the Mhz is different. I may justhave to get a different one.

Are you sure your Dell supports DDR2??
133MHz PC133, 168p DIMM is more like it i think but not totally sure.
