When I open internet explorer, all of the words (back, forward, stop...etc)under my standard buttons icons are of grey color instead of a solid black. The same goes for my system clock. What would cause that and is there a way to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does this happen only when you are opening the application? After a while, do the icons return to their normal settings?

If so, this is a normal process while IE is opening up.

It stays the same at all times while the application is open.

go into IE properties and choose colors at the very bottom (this is in the general tab). a little window will pop up. on the left is the colors choice for text and background. dont check those, put a checkbox in use windows color. thats the only thing I can think of.

actually, even better idea is to use mozilla's firefox browser. its kicka$$. much faster. also does it change color when the mouse hovers over it?

It does not change shades when the mouse pointer hovers over it.
