Now for the questions

1. Will everything posted above fit together correctly? How about the quality (I'm not OCing btw)? Notice that some things i selected are OEM. Is it ok that these are OEM, or am I missing something like wiring because a particular component is OEM and not retail?

2. Video cards. An ATI x1950XTX is $480. A Evga 7950GX2 is $500. Which is better for me?

3. I have a question about DX10. If I were to dump the x1950XTX/7950GX2 idea, and buy a 8800GTX instead in nov., would it be able to run on Windows XP? Or do DX10 cards only run on Vista?

4. Any other comments about the setup?

Thanks a bunch. If everything looks ok, I'm going to order the CPU and GPU myself, and I can get all the other parts for b-day/christmas. I have alot... and I mean alot of family. :p

1. Yes. OEM is fine. I get OEM hard drives, CD roms, and Power supplys and thats about it.

2. Your choice.

3. 8800GTX will run on XP yes.

4. Its exspensive

Expensive as in...ripoff? Or it just costs a pretty penny in general i know, but I'm looking for something pretty darn fast so I won't get ticked off a year from now because I wouldnt be able to run anything. Some people here have more like 3k budgets lol.

Not expensive as in ripoff.....it's just the components like that X1950XTX are expensive. But that will be an awesome system.

i would get a better motherboard i mean thats a pretty high end system to limit your self to a cheap motherboard

Is is a bad mobo? What makes a mobo bad if you're not overclocking? Can it limit speed, or does it blow up sooner or later no matter what?

i would go with the lexa........

that case is wayy to standout ish, the lexa is sleek :)

its black and aluminum which makes it very nice

though it does have the auto clip bay things which the lexa doesnot, i just screw in the drives

I'm probably going to stick with that case. I like the looks of it because it just reminds me of the alienware cases somewhat, because I think they are both clean cut. It least the front sides aren't flared out 4 inches each like some of these power-ranger looking cases.

So can anyone enlighten me on the motherboard situation? (read my next most recent post) thanks

Sorry about the bump but I need an answer about the motherboard as I will make my decision soon.

And I've noticed that G.SKILL RAM i posted in the original post is always always always sold out. I've never seen it available. Can someone help me out with that? Any alternatives for RAM or sites that carry the same?

Might want to get a aftermarket CPU fan. The one that comes with the core 2 duos are garbage. Zalman, or Artic Frezeer are the best.
