Just an update since I haven't been around in ages. I bought a 6800GS AGP for my MSI 845G Max. It supported AGP 4X, DDR266, and ATA-100. In the process I also had to buy a new PS because my old one didn't meet the minimum specs for the 6800GS. Although, my comp ran fine with an ATI 9200 in it, it crashed under any 3D application with the 6800GS installed. After about an hour if diagnosing I realized my 6800GS was not compatible with my MB for no other reason than it just didn't like it. I then purchased a new MB.

I picked up an ASUS S478 so I could reuse my CPU and memory. The new board also supports AGP 8X, DDR400, and SATA1. Still an old board, but it only cost me $50 and will keep me running another year or more with my P4 2.4, PC-2100, and IDE HD. Check out my sig for my complete system specs.

I've been benchmarking all morning using 3DMark03. I successfully unlocked the extra pipes and vertex shader on my 6800GS. These scores are without a CPU overclock.

My score with my old MB and my ATI was 1200.
My score with my new MB and my nVidia was 8889.
My score with my new MB and my nVidia unlocked was 9835.

I'm now in the process of overclocking my CPU. Before I had a No-Name 300W PS with 10A on the 12V rail. I overclocked my CPU to 2.6Ghz before it crashed. I now have the Sparkle 350W PS with +12V1 at 18A and +12V2 at 16A. I'm typing this at 2.64 GHz and it's rock solid without any temp increases so far.

CPU temp 27C
MB temp 33C
GPU 56C
