Sound Problem

I just finished building my first computer and the on boardsound doesn't seem to work. Thw mobo is a ecs nforce3-a and the sound chip is realtek ac97. I have made sure it is enabled in the bios and installed the drivers for in from the mobo's cd. Does any one know what the problem might be? thanks

are u plugging in to the right sockets for sound out put? also, check from control panel and sound properties that MUTE isnt ON.

Yes I have checked all those, and the speakers are plugged in and turned on.

lol everyone has this problem, including me. dont use ur mobo cd. downlaod the dirver from from realtek.
