I finally got my computer all set up and now the motherboard's sound won't work. I plugged in some speakers and turned them on, but it won't recognize them. All I get for applications is that annoying beep from the speaker plugged into the motherboard.

I installed the audio drivers that came with the motherboard CD and it didn't help. I can't turn the volume up because I don't have the little speaker icon in the system tray, and it doesn't show up in the control panel "configure sound devices" thing. I've tried every one of the plugs in the back and none of them work.

Like in AIM I had sounds turned on and it uses the tiny speaker as the message noise. The speaker was connected via the front pannel if that helps any.

Edit: Should I just pull that plug out? Maybe that's overriding the rear sound ports.

I finally stopped being a lazy *** and opened my case to pull the **** plug. I did, and nothing happened. Anyone have any ideas? Because this is getting really annoying.
