Building my first computer

Hey everyone,
I'm new here and I was hoping I could get some advice or just a second opinion on this:

I'm going to be building my own computer for the first time and wanted to make sure I covered all the bases. What I want is a computer that will be good for multi-tasking (surfing the internet, downloading, playing music, etc...) as well as some moderate gaming too. I won't be doing any overclocking though. I have already got a list of the components I think I will need. I would just like to know if they are good for what I am trying to build and if they are all compatible with each other. If you plan on doing more surfing than gaming, that looks like a good build.

But for gaming, I would recommend more RAM and an AMD processor.
 
Beats my system - I game a little too...haven't had any trouble running my games.

Ok. I finally decided to just spend some more money and build something that will last longer and have more prospects for expandability. Will also be able to play some more games with this I hope. Here's what I'm getting:
