Whats Conroes threshold temperatures?

The reason I ask is i've been overclocking my E6400 and the temps are increasing dramactially from 2.14 ghz ---> 3.00 ghz, Thanks for any information.

Also should I be worried about any long term damage? I dont use my computer more then a few hours a day. And I never leave it on overnight or when I'm not using it.

Lastly, If I wanted to play on the safe side and only overclock when I want to play some games, is that recommened? Example (going from 2.14 --- 3.00 ghz when I want to play games and then setting it back to normal.

Just tell us the temps and we will tell you if they are high. IMO 80 celcius is higher than I would want.

well it idles around 55 C, its OC from 2.14 ---> 2.5 ghz. Stock Cooling.

how high are you upping the voltage?

I didnt up the voltage at all.

Would that lower temperatures? Or raise them?

Upping the voltage would raise temps, but if you're upping the mhz and it becomes unstable up the voltage a bit to stabilize it.

Would anyone recommend Overclocking and setting back to normal back to Overclocked... etc. Whenever I want to use the computer for gaming?
