Hey all,

What does "non-ecc unbuffered" mean in terms of ram? i want to buy a 1gb stick of ddr2 667 and thats what it says... thanks for the help

ecc stands for error correction control. Basically it means the memory can check itself to make sure the data it is sending is correct and not corrupted by adding an extra bit to each byte. Most of the time you don't need it. It will actually increase your latency which is not good if you want speed

yea in short:

Never use (ECC) or (Registered) Ram, unless its being used in a Server machine.
