How Long have you gone without a BSoD?

my longest streak was around about 10 months, from when i built my pc until last month. stupid tuner card and graphics card drivers

Right before I formatted and reinstalled. IE7 took out several key Windows files.

All fixed and purring along for a bit now.

The BSOD before the one I mentioned happened when I changed from headphones to Sterio reciever. Odd.

two possibilities in my opinion:
1. drivers, if the receiver is analogue and your sound adapter has jack-sensing which most do now it may have BSODed when trying to sense the change
OR
if the receiver is digital could be related to drivers for digital sound
2. bad electrical ground and the blue screen of death was almost death for your pc because something BAD happened when you plugged in the receiver

could just be coincidence though my friend used to have his pc restart whenever he plugged in speakers or a microphone, no BSOD though

Uh, the last time I BSoD'd was before I got my new powersupply, like a month or two ago now.
