RAM Not Recognized

Hey

Well I just tried to put in some RAM for my bro and it fits, but it isn't recognized when I go to system information, it also isn't recognized when I go to cpu-z.

Do I need to go somewhere and change one of the options in the BIOS?

what type of ram did you get ?

His comp specs:
- AMD Athlon 2400+ processor (2.0ghz)
- 512 RAM (one stick)
- ati radeon 256mb 9600xt

Here is his mobo info:
- biostar group
- KM400-8237
- VIA chipset
- his mobo supports up to 8x
