I'm pretty new to building and repairing PC's. One of my friends gave me an old computer and I noticed the motherboard was really nice and it was equipped with an AMD processor chip, so I knew it couldn't be too old. So this would be an excellent starter project for me. I'll be darn, I just plugged it up to see if I had any juice coming through, and it came right on. So I hooked the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. When I got in to the BIOS to see the status of this computer, it asked me for a password. Obviously the previous owner had this thing under a password. The people that gave it to me told me that the previous owner had moved to Hawaii ior somewhere like that.

Bottom line, Is there any way to get around the password, or crack or fool the system somehow?

In the computer (open the case), you'll see a watch battery on the motherboard. Take it out, leave it like that for a couple hours. Put it back in, and reboot. Problem should be solved.
