Digital video Cameras

I bought a Digital Video camera approximatly a year ago only to learn that the camera relied on a Firewire port to transfer the video images to the computer. My desktop computer does not have a firewire port in it. I am reluctant to open the case to put a board into it. Are there any well made video cameras that use USB rather than Firewire since USB is a common video port?

my vid cam will do both but the faster firewire input is far supperior. I started using usb but once I tried firewire there was no going back. If you do not feel comforateble putting your own card in take it to a shop. It would be much cheaper than buying a new cam.

I thought that most DV Cameras could only record to tape. Mine is a Sony, perhaps I sould dub to the card. My new computer has a slot for most cards.
