MS outlook express to MS Outlook

Hey guys.. This might be a stupid question but how do i change the current default email program which is outlook express to just Outlook which i beleive is a more up to date program with the calender option etc. The reason i am asking is because i need to do this for my boss at work.

I will need to be able to transfer all information that is on the current outlook to the new one.. is this as simple as downloading and updating?
The pc is running xp.

default email program is define in internet options which can be found in the control panel.

you can import Outlook Express or Outlook data by clicking File | Import
