I know im a day late but just an fyi XP cd keys that come installed with your computer are very hardware specific so, lets say you changed motherboards and re-formatted. You would have a fun time trying to use the old cd key.

Incorrect. When you change components such as the motherboard you can simply reformat or run a repair. Neither of which requires a new Key. And if there is a problem all you do is call MS, say you got a Virus or some stupid excuse and they give you a new Key FREE OF CHARGE.
I have reformated many times and only once I had to call MS for a new one.
