first question-power supply, whats a good power supply to get, and increasing the power supply: any advantages or disadvantages?

Second Question-memory (or ram) Where exactly do you put that when building a computer(im new), but where exactly does it go, and Like On average how long will a Memory thingy last? 5 years 10 years? etc?

power supply, antec, that's the only psu's i've been getting lately, the more power the better, only downfall is your electricity bill will be 5 cents higher you bum...
the ram goes in the dimm slots.. look in your manual and if you still can't figure it out, call the whitehouse, depending on what brand of ram you get, it can last from 1 year to 10 years

All depends - usually placing ram is very simple. There's usually atleast 2 little slots that you just pop it in and it's there.

I've had computers with generic ram in them that are 8 years old and still working, just try to get low-latency ram.

*edit*OOPS! oh, and, as far as power supplies go, depending on waht you're using it for, 420 watt will probably be plenty ^^

Please keep attention to the orientation of the ram slots. Look on the bottom of the ram sticks, there you will see two notches on SDRAM and one notch on DDR. Line them up with the notches on the motherboards memory slots. Make sure the side clips on the slots on the board are open and work em in, some motherboards memory goes in easy, others you better be careful.
