Hey guys. I stumbled upon this website and read through some reads...looks like alot of people got helped, hope I can be too. :/ Well I pulled out my old computer to spiff it up in order to donate to a friend. Thats when the trouble started.
First I installed Partition Magic.
Then I formatted the main partition.
After I set in BIOS to boot via cd rom.
It loads from the CD, I click install new os and get the licence agreement. However here's the problem. I keep hitting F8 to accept but it won't. The only way to get out of the screen is to exit.
In attempt to get in another way I ignored the cd rom boot and I get the following error which I imagine is from formatting.
"NTLDR is missing. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart."
Many thanks in advance.

Is your keyboard a usb keyboard? If so check to see if your bios has a "Support usb keyboard" function, I know that helped me one time.

I'm not using a usb keyboard.
The drive is formatted NTFS.
I wasn't using a boot disc which would explain that, heh.
What about the licence agreement issue?

ntldr is the first file that loads in the nt os's. most likely has not been copied yet, net to find a different keyboard and try f8 again.

My friend suggested that its my xp cd...I checked the CD and it does indeed have a few nasty scratches. Could this be a possibility of the problem?
