buy the video card trotter suggested, and if you wanna save some money maybe get a slightly lower-end motherboard. get another 2 sticks of 512mb (make sure the motherboard you pick doesn't downclock the RAM to DDR333 with 4 sticks, as mine does)

that should cost you around $400, and you can sell off your old mobo and video card, and maybe get $100 back or something...

Oh get the XFX 7600GT instead of the 6800, much better value. Its 136.99 after $10 rebate on Newegg.

Ok well i wanna go with this mobo. It is decent for the price, plus it is on sale for $39.99 at my local computer store. ECS NF4-A939 it is average and it has an nf4 chipset which is better than my ULI crap that i ahve now. Its got 4 ram slots and pci-E, and its o/cing shouldn't be too bad considering its nf4. Its really good for the price considering im getting it for 40 bux. So for the videocard i could get the 7900GTO, but i kinda wanted to spend less, What baout this card?
Radeon x850xt: It has 16 pipes and its 256 bit, it also has high clock speeds.

Do you think its pretty good for the price or would a 7600gt be better?

I have no idea if the x850xt is better than the 7600gt... or vice versa, I got the 7600gt since Simcity 4 seems to like nvidia cards and drivers more than ATI.

Oh if you're getting a mobo with an nvidia chipset, just get the 7600gt.

Tomshardware test on both and another card

I skipped most of the responses but I'd go with 2 gig of RAM, new board, and a decent PCIE vidya card. The rest, HDD, CPU, case, PSU, etc, just keep that.

g'night.
