According to Daily Tech, 8800GTX will be clocked at 575Mhz. It will be equipped with 768MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 900 MHz (1800Mhz DDR). 8800GTX will have 384-bit memory interface.
Also, it will be equipped with 128 unified shaders clocked at 1350 MHz.

In the other hand, 8800GTS GPU will be clocked at 500 MHz. It will be equipped with 640MB memory clocked at 900 MHz (1800mhz effective), and it will have 320-bit memory interface. It will also have 96 unified shaders clocked at 1200 MHz.

GeForce 8800GTX and GTS will be launched in November 2006

release - second week of November

Model - 8800GTX // 8800GTS // 7950GTX
Memory GDDR - 768MB // 640MB // 512MB
Mem. bus width - 384 // 320 // 256
Memory Bandwidth - 86 // 64 // 51.2
Core clock - 575 // 500 // 650
Memory clock - 900 // 900 // 1600
Unified Shaders - 128 // 96 // 24 PixelPipelines
Shader Clock Rate - 1350 // 1200

to the best of my research/knowledge this is what i could come up with. and i didnt add the GX2 because of the 1gb of ram.

hope this saves you some time.

sources--> the links given above for the G80s and newegg for the 7950GTX

Will this cause the price of other video cards to go down? If so, then I will most likely wait till these come out.

Can someone please tell me why everyone is getting so excited to the point they say, "nVidia is reinventing the wheel" ?

The ram upgrade isnt exponential (1100000000). i mean the switch from pixel to unified shaders sounds nice, but the core clock is lower? As is the memory clock? There has to be something that I'm missing, someone care to help me understand?

they could be using a more effective components that could be lower as well as better, but you also the Mem. bus width and Memory Bandwidth are both greater than the previous versions, as well as different stuff.

Memory clock - 900 // 900 // 1600

8800GTX and GTS have 1800MHz effective (900mhz per channel) memory speed, because

1800Mhz=1.8Ghz
384bit=48 byte

1.8GHz*48Byte = 86.6GB/s which is the memory bandwidth of 8800GTX

there's supposed to be 128 of them.

..... omg, power hungry basterds

450watts minimum?

Im guessing pretty soon we will all have watercooling.. cause thats where the gaming industry is headed.

The PlayStation4 will have a radiator and everything, with a Quad Core Cpu

Its going to happen everytime something new comes out. It gets hotter, and more expensive then the last one... then fades away, and another comes

I guess its not all that bad... for the people that have plenty of $$$
