Ive got a pentium 4 and i think i have a 775 but my dads got a AMD somehthing and i think ges got a type A? but what are the differences and what are my high end options....im looking at the core 2 duo
if you're looking at installing a Core 2 Duo on you're existing motherboard it's probably not possible. the motherboard would need to be almost brand new for a Core 2 to work on it. google and download "CPU-Z". it should tell you a lot of information including the socket type. Core 2 Duo's require LGA775 (a.k.a s775 or socket T) and certain chipsets. if you have the correct socket but not one of the right chipsets it won't work.
Is it possibe to get a motherboard with a 775 and an AGP and a PCI X16? Because I just got a new AGP video card and i can only seem to find 775s with PCI X16 slots, but id like to have both so i can upgrade to PCI X16 in the future
