My machine will be around $2,000, e6600, high end graphics card, and 2g ram.

What should I do for my hard drives? 2x raptors and a storage drive, or ...?

raptors... imo not worth it

why u ask?

well for starters they dont increase your gaming fps, all they do is make the game load faster on the loading screen, and they generate way to much heat

Just get a 250gb Western Digital, unless u need more space
(i got mine around $80 @ newegg, its awesome)

All u need to look for in a harddrive is space, cache, and make sure its 7500rpm and not 5000

I agree the raptors are kind of unecessary and do run hot. But, if you want that exrta little bit of speed (and money is not a huge issue) especially in load times they are fun to have. Make sure you have a cool case. I got a big 110 fan pulling air over mine with 3 exahust fans in a big case and heat is not an issue. In a small cramped case they would be HOT.

Yeah I think I'm leaning towards 2 total drives, what are some good combos?

I've been told to get a 150g raptor and a caviar 250g secondary.

My 250GB WD SATA 1/2 the price of a raptor and 3 1/3 times bigger

I am on the side of pointless until you have maxed *everything* else out.

Those charts are nice, but I really don't understand them well enough to see what they have to do with my 150g and 250g HD options.
