Ok ibuypower seems to ever-so-slightly jack up their prices on their Core 2 Duo setups, so I'm not going to mess with it. I'm going to build my own. But I need the "hook-ups" lol, as in...your help.

Here is what to do:
Gaming, good games like Oblivion, Battlefield, HL2 ect, all pretty demanding.
A good multitasker, but then again if it can game, it can do anything else pretty much.
I will not be overclocking, I've said it before and I will again.

I already know i want a Sapphire x1950XTX in it and a Core 2 Duo E6600, SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music, and a 250GB Seagate Harddrive.

What I need help on is the following:

Power Supply
RAM (I guess I would want DDR2 2x1GB?)
Mobo
Case
and anything else you could possibly think of that i would need, besides external accesories like monitor, speakers, and software like Windows.

Would I need to buy extra wiring since the harddrives are all OEM, or do power supplies come with wiring kits for all of your components? How about thermal paste for the cpu?

I want the above parts to be good and hold up well, but I want the price to be reasonable. Some of this stuff might be christmas presents or something lol, so keep a reasonable budget in mind for the parts I mentioned. Like I said, I won't OC, so that should help money wise.

Links would help a ton, and thank you.

You might be thinking that ram is expensive but you need DDR2 800 to use the CPU to it's full potential... And that case i selected is Mad A$$... They are all top quality parts

Total: $607

A fellow NZXT fan! <3

Although I think the blue version of that case is ugly, everything will fit. :p (I would recommend you buy a 120mm fan to go at the front of that case though.)

Sounds a bit like the PC I just put together. If you're a heavy Oblivion Player you should know that the Chuck Patch doesn't work with the 1950XTX and that there are currently no drivers for the 1950XTX. But still a great card, of course.

Shame you're not going to OC that Conroe though, it's got a lot of juice and it's very easy to do a safe OC with it.

As for cables, you should get everything you need with your MOBO, unless you buy an OEM MOBO as well, of course. Then you're in for a lot of Wire hunting.

How about this case?

Would everything fit in there?

Pretty much everything would fit inside a Midtower with the exception of some monster PSUs. I would just go for a case you like the looks of, and make sure it's got a decent airflow.

I'd recommend this OCZ PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817341002

Stable, got lots of juice to last you a while and it's got a blue LED(noticed you liked blue :p) But it might not be in your price range.

Here is my take on what you should get.

Motherboard

Ram

Power Supply
The one Inziladun recommended looks good to me.

Case
Thats up to you. Just get something you like to look at and that has good air flow.

Some of the parts I have selected are a bit pricy but they are good. One thing you do not want to do when building a computer is cheap out. Things change so fast that the lower you start the faster you get behind.
