all the old files gone

now the internet is going really slow

pictures wont load

took 5 min just to load this page

Update all your drivers. That could help, run spyware/virus/adware/malware cleaners.

is it win98/me, xp?...is it just the internet your having problems with..is it dialup or braudband? check ethernet or modem drivers.

TCPOptimizer is a freeware program that helps you adjust for better speed, could be worth a try.

what the others said plus, what browser you using?

gone through all of the windows updates before surfing? my xp disk is service pack 1, I visited a couple websites in IE while windows was updating (download.com and another site i googled to dl some apps) and over 10 minutes windows will jacked up just from 10 minutes. Just making sure you know to update windows first and foremost after a reformat.

It sounds like to me that you are using 56K for your Internet COnnection.

Your PC should have been infected by spy, virus or other malware, otherwise either win98 or XP shouldn't have let you wait for 5 minutes for a picture.

I do believe what you told us was the truth of your PC; but
I just wondered if you have got any AV program and spy killer progarm in your PC.

quest dsl
the pages will load after i updated the driver but pictures and images wont load
