Strange problem for which I need help

In start menu items I find that Most Recently Opened Documents are not appearing.

1. In Properties/advanced I have enabled "List my MROD"
2. I can pin items to start menu
3. I have been through Help & Support and got nowhere
4. The size (height) on monitor is now much higher than normal and is only reduced by using small icons

Everything else is ok.

For the most recently opened documents have you tried.....

Right click taskbar>properties>start menu tab>customize>advanced tab and then at the bottom of this box theres a tickable box that allows them to be shown, mine isnt ticked because i dont want them showing!

Of course I did this and said so above
