Nope, RAM shouldn't matter, it's mostly processor-dependent. I guess Ubuntu has a better management of system resources, that's all.

...Say what?

I got like 8 seconds faster going to 2GB from 1GB of RAM.

Well with my desktop in my sig, I got 31 seconds in Ubuntu.

Plus, I'm not believing the thing about the RAM helping speed. At least, it never did for me. When in Windows, I could shut down every program and even Windows Explorer and would get the same SuperPI times. I even did it in safe mode once and got the same times.

SuperPi is super-dependant on RAM, I don't think it should ever be considered a CPU benchmark.
Why not?

Does anyone here know exactly how SuperPI works?

If it was highly dependant on RAM, wouldn't there be a lot of RAM utilization when SuperPI is running?

When I run it in Ubuntu, it's using about 1.8 MB of RAM.

optical, bring up the task manager processes window, would like to see what all is running, what a big difference in speed.

dude, if you dont believe that its ram dependant, put your ram 1:1 then run like 2:3, your time will lengthen dramacticaly.

i mean your proccesor does matter, but your ram matters alot.
