Help needed; two notebook fans stopped working.

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 12500, Model #PPO2L

Both fans in the back stopped turning and a "fan error message" appeared on the screen.

I wouldn't think the PSU is out if the screen is able to display a message.

Is this an easy or difficult job? I am handy with tools....and love to work on computers; but I've never worked on a notebook.

This is my granddaughter's notebook so I don't have it to diagnose.

Any idea what it would cost to have repaired? What about if I did it?

well if u say ur handy then a buy a new one(s) for lik $5 bucks and install it because u wont go far with that notebook without working fans .

the other thing is that u should air blow fans on comuters or notebooks,etc in a regular bases, because if u dont they will fail because of dust as well as ur computer because it will overheat
