I would really recommend the Core 2 Duo over the Athlon 64 x2 4800+. It is much faster...(And cheaper too.)

just go with the build i posted, and add a 19" monitor and maybe change the mobo to an ASUS PB5, it'll kick ***.

Hey zucchini, how would the DS3 mobo work? Ive heard that is one of the better boards and still has a good price. And for the HDD, you can get a 160gb for 54 bucks on NE right now.

Core 2 duo > Amd 64 X2 > Pentium D

Your thinking pre Core 2 era. A few months ago it was easy to just say AMD is better but not now.

Hey zucchini, how good is that MSI board?? Reliable, stable if you arent overclocking? I need to know what board i should get. What do you think about the DS3 or the P5NSLI boards? which would you recommend?
