how to delete files without restart my PC

I am using Windows Media Player 10.

A warning message was given when I tried to delete any movie file that I had just played in WM Player:
"The file is currently used by another program..."

So, I had to restart my PC so as to do the deletion.

You have to either end what program is using it or try it through command prompt but I'm not sure about that.

Yes, I did.
I deleted its file name from the playlist, but that didn't help at all!
