I got a few other odds and ends too (combo drive, case, fans, etc.) This is my first time ever building a computer, so we'll see how it goes....

Oh, and if any of ya are curious, it was a total of $1,600

Should have went with socket AM2. It has more of a future for upgrading than the 939.

Video card only has 8 pipelines.
Hard Drive looks great. I really want that LCD.

Welcome to TECH FORUMS. Even though i haven't been here that long.

I know that Intel's Duo is much better processor, but what is wrong with that mobo?

Its 939. They stopped making 939 processors and are moving on to am2.

Also you know a Single 7900 GT would have spanked Two 6800's for roughly the same price?

The customer reviews for the 6800 were really good. People were saying it performed so well they couldn't believe it only had 8 pipelines. And a fair amount of the 7900 reviews were complaining about artifacting. But according to you guys I made the wrong choice :(

You really blew it on the video cards and the processor/mobo.

Wow! That's harsh.... but true.

IMHO you should go w/ AM2 if you insist upon AMD. If you are not particuarly partial, then C2D is Master of the Domain (this quarter).

I have that mobo and the 256mb version of the gfx card. I love both altough they are kinda out dated now. Just get a cheap card to tide you over and wait for dx 10 cards. whether you want one or not, they will bring price cuts.

The reason there was complaints was due to companys overclocking them too much, so the early ones had plenty of problems. I would think now though its all fixed and most 7900 cards work just fine. I agree with everyone here as well AM2 and a better graphics card. I haven't heard of rosewill PSU`s? so not sure if their good or not.
