is there a big difference between overclocking with an AMD 64 and a Core 2 Duo. if so, what are they and please be specific. thanks.

heat, 90 nM(amd) and 65 nm, though some say c2d are hot too, they are new and they should be getting better with time.

65nm doesn't really make it a better overclocker as it means it has a lower tolerance for heat and voltage, which cancels the fact it runs cooler. it used to help a lot but now it doesn't really other than making chips cheaper to manufacture. the difference is that the Core 2 range still has a lot of the overclocking potential of the P4.

a LOWER tolerance? wierd, i always though lower # was better at heat
hmm, i wonder where i read that

The lower the nm, the smaller the transistor.

They are, in theory, cooler. But, when you run more voltages through them...they get hot. They don't have the surface area that a 90nm transistor has.

I believe there are a few more/less/different options going from AMD to Intel. It's basically the same though.
